Who is KG Abraham

KG Abraham is a partner and managing director at NBTC Group, the largest construction company in Kuwait. In Kerala, he is the chairman of the brown plaza in Kochi, a 5-star hotel known for its top-notch hospitality.

Abraham, often called KGA is a businessman from Thiruvalla, Kerala is the founder and chairman of the KGA group established in Kuwait in 1977 the group is known as NBTC (Nasir M al Baddah & Partner Gen. Trading & Contracting Co. W. L. L.), operation the middle east and Indian subcontinent it works on various projects including Engineering, Construction, Contracting, Marketing, and Education.

In Kerala, Abraham has invested in many projects and is known for his visionary leadership and strong support for his employees. He also invest in private companies across different industries and actively helps developed and start new companies.

What Happened in Kuwait?

A terrible fire in Kuwait Mangaf district killed at least 51 people including 5 Indians and injured several others. The fire broke out in a building where about 200 laborers including workers from Kerala and Tamilnadu were living

How did the Fire start?

The fire started in the kitchen of the labor camp around 4:30 a.m. local time. It quickly spread to the upper floors, trapping residents inside because the glass windows were sealed.

In the desperate to escape some people jump from the building leading to further tragedy. Many suffered severe burns and suffocation from the thick smoke. Emergency services quickly arrived and took the injured to nearby hospitals for urgent care. Reports suggest the death toll could rise as many are critically injured.

As reported by PTI citing officials the total number of people killed in the Al-Mangaf building is 49 and 42 of them are India’s the remaining ones are Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian, and Nepali nationals.

Shameer Umaruddhin,30, died in the fire he was from Sasthamkotta in Kollam and had been working as a driver for the NBTC group for the last 5 years his relative Savad said he worked as a driver in Kollam before moving to Kuwait. Shameer visited Kerala 8 months ago a relative in Kuwait informed the family about the tragedy and identified his body.

Sameer is survived by his wife surumi and his parents, Ummerudheen and Sabeena. He was the second of their three sons. He got married 3 years ago and had been struggling to support his family, Said Savad.

Indian external affairs minister S Jaishankar expressed shock over the incident, with the Indian ambassador visiting the came to assess the situation.
