He has also graduated from the Paul M.Hebert Law Center at the Louisiana State University. Early Life and Education
He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and was the oldest of four children to Jeanne Johnson and James Patrick Pat Johnson who died in the year 2016. He has also said that he is the product of an unplanned pregnancy and that his parents were teenagers when he was born. After this, they later got divorced.
In the year 1984, while serving with the Shreveport Fire Department, Pat Johnson was injured and disabled in a fire at the cold storage facility. Buffalo fighter was also killed in that fire. Pat Johnson never return to work as a firefighter choosing and instead becoming a HazMat consultant. He also founded the Percy R. Johnson Burn Foundation which has been added to burn victims and their families.
Legal Career
He was also a constitutional lawyer before entering into politics and was a senior legal Council for the Alliance Defence Fund also known as the Alliance Defending Freedom which was a socially conservative legal advocate c group that subscribes to the legal theory of constitutionalism. Working there he had written an amicus brief that opposed the eventual US Supreme Court rules in Lawrence v. Texas supporting the sodomy laws that would criminalize homosexuality. In the year 2004, he defended Louisiana Amendment 1, which has defined marriage as between one man and one woman within the Louisiana Constitution which is against the legal challenges.
In the year 2010, she was named the founding Dean newly established Pressler School of Law at Louisiana College. The Law School has never opened and he resigned in August 2012. He had also served from 2014 to 2012 at the ethics and religious Liberty commission of this Southern Baptist convention.
In the year 2015, he also founded the Freedom Guard which is a nonprofit legal ministry which has been designed to represent Christian clients and lawsuits. He was AIDS Chief Council during his time in the Freedom Guard he defended the sports chaplaincy program at the Louisiana State University from the attack which was unconstitutional. He had also represented an Ark Encounter and its owner, Answers in Genesis in a 2015 federal lawsuit.
In September 2016, he summarised his legal career as defending religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, and the values that include the defense of traditional marriage as well as other ideas like this when they have been under assault.

He has been married to his wife Kelly Renee Larry on 1 May 1999. The Johnsons have said their marriage is a covenant marriage. The primary residence is in Benton, Louisiana. He has five children including an adult son, Michael Terrell James. He met James at an event for the Young Life ministries.
